The wonder that we feel toward the natural world need not only be inspired by sweeping landscapes; the sublime can be experienced in the everyday, often overlooked fragments of nature that surround us. I seek to heighten awareness of the mundane miracles of nature using a discerning eye, patient observation, an understanding of plant morphology, and a sensitivity to our environment.

I am particularly interested in bringing attention to our native plant heritage. My subjects are collected locally, and many are native to the Mid-Atlantic region where I live. My work emphasizes the subtle beauty and importance of native plants in preserving biodiversity and celebrating our ecological legacy.

While managing a native plant nursery, I brought together my love for plants, botany, and drawing into a botanical art practice. After selling my nursery several years ago, I have devoted myself to my art.
